Universe Cell & Dish 'Live @ Five Show' with Glenn Curry

Heard daily on Watertown's AM1240, Glenn Curry offers an outside look at the top local and national issues.

Wednesday, November 30, 2005

It's a Wednesday version of the 'Live @ Five' show and things don't appear to be happening at all around town. No DANC issues here, just the same old 'see what happens' show. Good discussions with 3 callers including Crazy Ray, Duff and Dan the Dem. Another caller talked about 'nudity' in a not so nudity bar. Internet is coming back!

Late again, but we're still happening. Tuesdays show covered all the 'nothing issues' including what does the work SIV mean? Jeff can't keep his mouth shut, and Crazy Ray has tree falling on his house. We may be getting the internet back too real soon, and then I can post these shows quicker. Look for a RRS Podcast feed too this week. Strange incident today in on Outer Washington St.

Finally, we're back on our blogger! Sorry about that, it's tough without an internet connection. Monday's show covered Glenn's anxious weekend and celebrated the Duff's 50th B.Day. Spaz came in and Glenn had some thoughts on Michael Erving. Steve Weed came in as well. Good to be back!

Here's some Thompson Park pics after heavy 'Lake Effect' snow on Thanksgiving '05. Snow started on Thursday but got intense on Friday, 15 inches in all. On Saturday evening, the same day this footage was shot, Sharon and her immediate family went tubing down Thompson Hill. Despite the fact Sharon staggered off with a bloody nose, everything went real smooth. Chad might have had some pain too.

Brave Sharon did teach us a lesson though, never go down sitting back. It's easier to steer whiie controlling the speed with your feet.

Glenn simply slid down the smaller hill due to past skiing mishaps. It was an enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend, and Glenn's wallet and lavalier microphones were safe and sound, no pun intended.

Look for more video posts from a digital camera this week!

Way late again, by the way, I wanted to say Way Late on the next post, but was too lazy to check the spelling. How how, Big Steve was the co-host on today's show. Good chat, plus more on social issues and other stuff. We've posted the last two shows late because the studio's internet has and will continue to be down through at least Monday. Sorry for the delay, we'll be back on track real soon

Wait late, in fact this show is from this past Thursday, November 17th. For a short while, Glenn explains why he had no internet. But as always, Glenn tries to make lemonade out of rotten lemons once again. We'll be on track for Thanksgiving week.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...a beautiful day in the neighborhood, would you be mine...would you be mine? Enough said, today's show included Glenn's opinion of young love and how tragic it is to get shot by an 18 year old brat who wants to bang your daughter after her allotted curfew. Several other topics including the 900 bowler, Jeff's show and Cashier Tom.

What a 'Ball' of a time at the Mayors' Ball this past Saturday night. Glenn and Sharon had a wonderful time, looks like Mayor Gragham did too. Other than that, the phones took a holiday today and Skip came in to chat as well as Tom Cat and his lovely 6 year old daughter. Sad story about the dead pitbull, and what's the deal with random crime in Watertown? This and more on today's show.

It's a Friday version of the 'Live at Five' show, and what a doggy-dog show it was. Duff started things off by saying the Mayor has no right to judge one bad dog from another, while others disagreed with him all together. Would you do it with a dog for money, how about something else? This and Bridget the former stripper round up today's show.

After a rough start, Glenn got back on the track to nowhere at all. Good calls from Mansville, the Duff, TomCat, the Intelligent Dude and our friend Dan the Democrat. All offered their two cents about something while Glenn continued to take Border requests from various kids. It seems, the song of the week is called 'My Hump'. Nice title, but Glenn still thinks 'My Ding Aling' was more appropriate in its day.

Would you like to be a cheerleader? Does'nt pay much, but if you get into a bathroom fight with another girl, you may just be making the career move of your life. This story and Dan the Democrat made up a lively show today. Cashier Tom was in to keep things funny, and the show will be streamed real soon, maybe by tomorrow thanks to C-Tom.

What do you get when your 'Talk Show Host' is off on one tangent after another? Listen to today's show and find out for yourself. The lovely Sharon came to the rescue though to make today's show a very memorable one to say the least. Various issues including the glass bridge at the High School and various family stories straight from Glenn's mom and dad. Politics too, vote tomorrow, all of us!

Due to the fact that the studio phones were being used for the Children's Miracle Network, it was somewhat difficult to take Live at Five callers. So, Glenn took the show in a light-hearted direction talking about whatever came to mind. Some callers were able to chime in, including Bob, the hockey announcer from St. Lawrence, Russel Bledsoe with his 'Fantasy Football' report and Tom Cat, who believes Motrocross is for real men, not baseball. Good show, see you next Monday.

It was Irish Day here at the Live at Five Show. Glenn had Sean Hennessy in today to talk about his weekly Irish show called 'Echoes of Ireland'. NY native Sean Hennessy is very excited about his third season. Glenn took callers about irish issues, including a call from the 'Duff' who unfortunately lost his dog two days ago. Good funny show.

Wow, Glenn spoke with the next Governer of the great state of New York, Mr. Tom Manning. Manning is running on next year's republican ticket, but got a good start with his own interpretation of economic reform in upstate New York, that's why he's on the campaign trail so early. Listen to Glenn's 22 minute conversation with Tom from today's show. By the way, others called and liked what they heard. While Dan the Democrat insists Glenn is too hard on certain members of our city's inner region.
