Heard daily on Watertown's AM1240, Glenn Curry offers an outside look at the top local and national issues.

Friday, March 31, 2006

What a week, and the Monta story continues on today's show. Adams Center Dude is upset that there haven't been any arrests yet. Glenn thinks the culprits are on the way to a life of crime. On the good side of cats in Watertown, Glenn just loved 'Cats' the play at Watertown High School last night. Hey, guess what? The show is now officially streaming through the world wide web. Simply go to H2OMedia.com and click on the Live at Five Stream banner on the left-hand side of the page. In fact, AM1240 is streamin live now 24/7!

Wow! Look at the weather outside! It's that time of year for the girls to show off their stuff! More good stuff today including a call from the very 'lively' Adam Ctr. Dude. Plus entertainment advisor Dee Perkins made her Thursday call this afternoon. This conversation sparked a phone call from the 'Concerned Citizen' who added his own entertainment knowledge to today's show. Good even-keeled show, now it's off to see 'Cats' at WHS.

Monta the cat tale story continues, but that's ok, it's a bonding of sorts according to Glenn. You see events like this actually get a community together. Today, we got a surprise call from the camera guy who caught the act this past Saturday from his house. Good call from a guy who apparently has seen a lot from his vantage-point. Others chimed in before and after the call. Good stuff once again.

Is it a sign of the times? TV 7 showed us graphic video of several youths videotaping their dog killing a cat. Many people chimed in to give their side of the story and the consenus is this must stop. Glenn was careful to describe the men as bad apples and not a representative of the class or race they represent. However, unsupervised youths who are from other urban cities is becoming alarmingly dangerous around town. Listen for yourself and make your own judgement.

What did Jeff want to chat about this morning anyway? Glenn doesn't want to know. That's how Monday started out for our so-called host. Anyway, Glenn has a grand idea for his 4th bedroom, but doesn't want a toe nail doing it. Spring is here and soon the sun will be shining on a regular basis. Glenn finally got rid of an office desk and then went kite flying on Washington St. Look out for rental trucks, the driver doesn't have a clue. Glenn's brother Kevin called and Cats will be on stage at WHS. What is it with those Mexicans waving their flag in an American city they want to call home? See you tomorrow.

What can we say that we haven't said all along? This show is too damn popular. No kidding, Glenn finally has gotten out of his shell and will no longer fool around with FM styly chat. So, today's show was a friendly attempt at making this adjustment without sacrificing funny 'on your way home' humor. Several people knew something was up after a show this week, but in the end, they understand the majority of people like the content all the time. Good way to end a hectic week!

When is enough enough? Ask Dave that, and he'll tell you we're already there! Although Glenn didn't believe it, 'BossMan' Dave said he got complaints about Wednesdays' show. Make note to self, never have a controversial show the day before Thursdays' Rotary Meeting. Rich guys have nothing else to do, other than to tell Dave he's got a loose cannon on his feable AM station. Too bad too, because people of all ages tune into the 'Live At Five' Show and have NO PROBLEM AT ALL WITH THE SHOW! Dee Perkins gave us her second 'Entertainment Report' and Jeff Gragham chimed in about the Dave vs. Glenn topic. Have a great night!

Dave wants his sandwich board, Glenn's sister actually used an idea from her brother and does a 4 hour erection mean trouble. These and other topics on today's show. Check out the cat falling from a tree on Newzjunky, it's a scream! Wow, a local hockey team became champions after a winless season, great story. Duff had some football talk, and Glenn agrees, as long as foreigners can play American games the better it is for the American sport itself! Hot for teacher talk too today.

Hey everyone, want to hear a show about basically everthing in under 55 minutes? Listen to today's collection of phone calls from Duff, Crazy Ray and an assortment of Border request callers. Glenn showed sympathy for the 66 year old who killed a teen for walking on his lawn, and Otis feels we should just let Iraq kill themselves off. Celebrity called to poo poo that idea. Looks like Syracuse won the Golden Snowball and yes AM1240 isn't really the 'News & Talk Authority' Have a great day!

Like Manilow said, looks like we made it! What seemed to be a middle of the road show to Glenn, was something much more potent. Good stuff with womens' neck-ware, Sopranos chat and which generation had the worst drug addicts. Don't look for q-tips with Glenn either. Sorry for the delay, we'll be streaming this week! Oh, we're fixing the mono problem too real soon.

Happy St. Pattys' Day from the cast at the Live at Five Show. Glenn had a rough start today, especially when his phone was muted for the first 12 minutes (dumb ass!). Several topics today, but for the most part, it was just another day for Glenn to field calls from whoever chimed in. Discussions included last night's Syracuse loss, Governor candidate Eliot Spitzer and crime in our region. Have a great weekend!

It was a CNN story down in Adams today, and Glenn touched on just some of the loose facts today. But today was Irish day on the Live at Five Show. Despite the fact that Glenn's Irish friend Deirdre McGowan didn't call, it was an all-out Irish discussion with Sean Hennessy. Sean extended a welcome to all to this weekends' Irish Festival at the S.O.B! Some people chimed in about the old St. Patricks' Orphanage on Court St. Erin Go Braugh and GO Orange tonight!

So what is the difference between a PA and a Doctor? Plus, what and who did Crazy Ray get crazy with years ago that cost him his marriage? Say, Savannah Sampson was getting crazy on the Stern show today and that's good. You see Glenn endorses local talent as much as possible! Cleve Calhoun chimed in as well as Dan the Democrat who felt Glenn was out of line when he asked a client if she was a lesbian. We're back to normal, see you tomorrow!

MP3 File

Tuesday, March 14, 2006

Don't be confused with today's show, Glenn did not want to interrupt today's Hannity/Stern interview, so he played it live for 13 minutes. Then it was an odd show to say the least. Our friend from the tower called asking Glenn the true definition of the 'Baby Boom' generation. That conversation went on until Glenn moved things in another direction. Sick story from Gouverneur, when a 1 year-old baby injested a used condom. We'll be back with the normal 'stuff' tomorrow.

Boy! Where do we start? Glenn had a very eventful weekend. First, it was a tour of Jeff & Millie Smith's new medical building on Friday night, followed by a birthday for a 100 year old man. Syracuse stepped things up this weekend, and Glenn had plenty to say about his 25th high school reunion in Queens. He also talked plenty about last night's premiere episode of the Sopranos. Plenty more to say over the next few days, starting with this afternoons' program. Good show!

Seems rock and roll star David Lee Roth is no longer the talk show host Infiniti thought he'd be. This and other stories were addressed on today's show. Duff called in to defend the 'state' of mature-acting teenagers. Glenn tried not to generalize, but could not entirely agree with Duff's point of view. Irma, a Sweedish native chimed in with her point of view, stating that girls today use their power to attract the opposite sex at a much earlier age. Good show, Glenn is going to his 25th High School reunion this weekend, so he'll have plenty to talk about on Monday!

Thursday, March 09, 2006

What a headache Glenn brought to the show today, but like they say, the 'show' must go on. Duff gave some headache advice to Glenn, then things went in different directions. Several callers chimed in for either a radio contest or request line. Glenn intercepted these callers and had his way with them once again. Things really got interesting when 'Crazy Ray' talked about the Fire Chief who got caught making it with a sheep. See you tomorrow!

It was an show about insurance today. Glenn invited insurance man and sponsor of the 'Live at Five Show' Gary Zehr from ENV Insuance. Gary talked about the new insurance savings plans that can benefit everybody! Various callers chimed in on their own slant, including a 13 year old girl who wanted a 'shoutout' for an 'Ass' song. See you Thursday!

Tuesday, March 07, 2006

Why oh why does God allow assh@les to exist? Glenn had issues with a caller who wouldn't talk after calling. Other than that, today's show still entertained the troops. More gay talk about the Oscars, plus Duff chimed in about the Pyramid vs. Cor battle. Adams Center asked if Watertown still had a downtown director. Amazingly, she was in the studio at that precise time (not really). Who's gonna be number 3 this week after Kirby Puckett died as well as Chris Reeves widow. See you tomorrow! We're back on the Blogger!

Monday, March 06, 2006

Sorry about this, but today's 'Live at Five Show' did not record. Looks like the Blogger service is acting up. This is truly a shame, since I was unable to record today's conversation with high school and college friend Dee Collins. Dee covered last night's Oscars from head to golden toe. In fact, Dee described many of this year's movies as if she actually saw them for herself! We'll back up our next coversation when Dee calls up the show next Thrusday with her 'Eye on Hollywood from Central New York Report'. Check out today's Hotline Show, I sat in for Jeff who was busy making a 'deal'.

MP3 File

Bonus coverage today! Here's Glenn doing his stuff on the Hotline Show. Good tales about weekend basketball, the Oscars and why whites should be a little like our black friends in the 'Hip Hop' class.

Lots of stuff today. First, Glenn had a fender bender today, and further discussed how small our community is. Then Glenn went on to other issues, including the Johnny Spezzano Club R controversy. The topic of former JCC President Joe Olsen came up again today. County Legislator Scott Grey contacted Glenn to let him know the legislature group had nothing to do with Joe's decision to leave JCC. Good time had by all today, especially when Simon Cowell came by to insult a Border listener.

It's a good ole' time in the neighborhood, and brother Glenn keeps on knocking on the door of political incorrectness. Today's main topic of concern, why did Dr. Joe Olsen leave JCC? Was he forced? Is Watertown still ruled by the 'Shadow Government'? Who knows, whatever the reason, we're losing another good guy. Also, Det. Bush was found not guilty today. Glenn seems to have a new fan, he's in the neighborhood and is off his proper medication.

Today was a radio show, that is a radio show about RADIO. Glenn read the top 100 radio personalities today, while adding his own spin on their individual appeal. The jist of today's show was about how little talent we have in our world. It doesn't stop with radio, in fact it's a problem across the spectrum. Check out today's show, and make your own opinion.
